  Dear friends, family and followers, Sometimes I wish I could just give up.   And I bet you wish I would too sometimes… ;-)   Give up going on and on (and on) about the climate crisis.   Stop banging on about taking climate action.   Quit posting things on social media that make my friends feel anxious, overwhelmed, panicked, uncomfortable, stressed.   I know I seem always happy, always confident, always positive, but there is part of me that is simply desperate to give up.   What does COP mean? C.O.P. stands for Conference Of Parties. These parties are the 197 countries that have signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀In 1994 the UNFCCC recognised there was a problem with climate change and bound member states to act in the interests of human safety even in the face of scientific uncertainty.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The objective of the Convention is to stabilise greenhouse gas concentrations "at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic (human induced) interference with the climate system." Black History Month       October is Black History Month in the UK. (It is February in the US.)
